*ECHO AFC Transportation* is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician with expertise in transit bus systems to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of transit buses, ensuring their safe and reliable operation. Your technical proficiency and comprehensive understanding of transit bus mechanics will be essential in delivering top-notch service.

*Responsibilities:*

*1. Maintenance and Repair: *Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on transit buses according to established guidelines and manufacturer specifications. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and implement effective solutions to keep the fleet in optimal condition.

*2. Diagnostic Expertise:* Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify complex problems in transit bus systems. Analyze data and troubleshoot issues in engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, HVAC, and other critical systems.

*3. Parts Management:* Coordinate with parts and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of necessary components. Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and consumables and advise on reorder points to prevent shortages.

*4. Safety and Compliance: *Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations while performing maintenance and repairs. Keep up to date with relevant safety standards and ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with local and federal regulations.

*5. Documentation:* Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including work performed, parts used, and diagnostic results. Provide clear and concise reports to supervisors and managers.

*6. Training and Support:* Assist in the training and development of junior technicians and apprentices. Share your expertise and knowledge to enhance the technical capabilities of the team.

*7. Continuous Improvement: *Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance operations.

*8. Emergency Response: *Participate in emergency response teams to address breakdowns and accidents, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal disruption to bus services.

*Qualifications:*

*- Technical Expertise:* A strong background in transit bus mechanics, with a deep understanding of various bus systems, engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, HVAC, and electronics.

*- Certifications: *Relevant certifications such as ASE Transit Bus Technician, EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician), or equivalent will be highly advantageous.

*- Experience:* Demonstrated experience in performing maintenance and repairs on transit buses or similar heavy-duty vehicles. Experience with hybrid or electric bus systems is a plus.

*- Diagnostic Skills:* Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and software to identify and rectify complex mechanical and electrical issues.

*- Problem-Solving:* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve challenging technical problems efficiently.

*- Communication: *Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members, communicate findings, and provide clear instructions.

*- Safety Focus:* Commitment to always maintaining a safe work environment and following safety protocols.

*- Adaptability:* Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and adapting to changing priorities.
