ECM Energy Services is seeking a full-time, experienced heavy duty/diesel mechanic to join our team on night shift. The ideal candidate will be able to fulfill all the below responsibilities and meet all listed requirements.

Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:

Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn and/or damaged parts.
Keeps vehicles available for use by completing preventative maintenance schedules such as bulbs, oil and tires, installing components and parts as needed, controlling corrosion and completing winterizing procedures.
Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems. • Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety and combustion control standards.
Maintains vehicle appearance through regular cleaning, washing and painting.
Maintains all equipment records by recording service and maintenance.
Keeps shop equipment operational by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance and calling for repairs as necessary.
Contains costs by using warranty and evaluating service and parts options.
Ensures the readiness and availability of supplies through regular inventories and proper purchasing.
Updates job knowledge through regular participation in educational offerings and reading technical publications.
Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness.
Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

Diesel Mechanic Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years heavy duty diesel mechanic experience is required OR 1 year experience AND successful completion of an accredited diesel mechanic program
Class A CDL license is strongly preferred
Extensive knowledge in materials, tools and techniques used in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of heavy duty trucks and mechanical equipment is required
MUST be computer literate and able to perform basic functions
Experience maintaining detailed records
Possess standard knowledge of safety policies and procedures
Possess excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication
Be able to work a varied schedule when needed
Have knowledge of FMCSA regulations and CVSA out of service criteria
