Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not supervise nor directly manage a team.

Position Summary

A successful Switcher will safely and timely move trailers from dock to dock on the facility, in a fast-paced setting. They will also support and help out the dock and other labor teams throughout the division as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Drive 18-wheelers from dock to dock within the facilities
Ensure a safe work environment
Communicate with the dock crews, drivers, and other switchers throughout the facility
Conduct yard checks
Operate the fuel truck when needed
Complete dock work as assigned
Other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications

1+ year(s) experience driving a switcher or OTR trailer
Detailed-oriented, accurate, reliable, able to multitask, and be a team player

Physical Requirements:

Active driver's license that allows the employee to drive in the given state

Job Setting & Physical Demands

This position is primarily outdoors but may be required to work between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may require the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust and allergens. There are occasional needs to work on scaffolding. Position requires long-term ability for standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Candidate must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility, including but not limited to driving the appropriate switcher trucks. Must have the ability to consistently lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
