HVAC Mechanic
About the Role:The HVAC Mechanic shall have a minimum of ten (10) years experience and a Maryland Journeyman license. This position is located in the Laurel, Maryland area. Shift is M-F 7:00am to 3:30pm with overtime as required.
* Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair of the following: Large chillers, steam hot water boilers, cooling towers, on campus setting with multiple buildings including lab with animals
* Operate and perform Preventive Maintenance of HVAC systems and subsystems
* Maintain plant and equipment in sound operating condition
* Perform Refrigerant recovery and recycling
* Operate Building Energy Management System (EMS) and associated building controls
* Interface with building managers and other customer representatives in order to ensure client satisfaction
* Accurately document work performed on trouble tickets or work orders
* Place and/or remove systems, hardware and equipment as required
* Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion
* Perform other related duties as assigned
You Should Have:
* State of Maryland Journeyman license or above required
* High School degree or equivalent
* Maryland Journeyman license or above required
* 10 years experience working on commercial HVAC systems
* Completed coursework in HVAC areas
* Must have working knowledge of 480V and below electrical systems, HVAC and plumbing system
* Universal CFC Certification
* Must demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in Building Operations
* Must be able to pass background check to obtain government site badge
* Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor
* Must be detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced work environment
* Valid driver's license
