*Job Description*

The Fleet Mechanic 2 is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Company fleet equipment to include, class 1-8 diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, and forklifts by performing the essential job duties.

*What your day will look like:*

* Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on all types of fleet equipment
* Troubleshoots mechanical and electronic malfunctions, perform all types of repairs, rebuild/replace major equipment components
* Perform emergency roadside services as needed
* Research and order parts, accurately record usage, and asset in managing stock inventory
* Complete electronic work orders, ensure all information is recorded in computerized maintenance system
* Assist team members with troubleshooting & repairs, researching parts, and inspecting equipment
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all Good Manufacturing Practices
* Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management

*What you need to succeed:*

* Minimum age of 18 years old
* Class A CDL license preferred
* Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
* Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
* Ability to read, write and speak English
* Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
* Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
* Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
* Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Advance knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on light duty, heavy duty and material handling equipment
* Ability to operate hand tools and others such as bench grinders, torch, drill press, jacks and jack stands, Sawzall, etc. as required to perform work
* Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
* Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
* Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to ensure efficient use of time
* Ability to work in a positive and productive team environment
* Frequent vehicle operation, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, overhead reaching, use of PPE special clothing, grasping, pushing, pulling, and frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50lbs.
* Repeated exposure to chemicals, weather, and noise
* Ability to show initiative, problem solving, technical skills, and demonstrate teamwork
