Pay Rate: $16.65 and up, based on experience

Sign-On Bonus: $2,000 for non-CDL candidates, $3,000 for CDL holders

Guaranteed Hours: 3 hours a day



Key Responsibilities:

· Safely operate a school bus on regular routes, spare routes, or charters.

· Read and understand street signs, route sheets, and maps.

· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks.

· Assist students during loading and unloading, including wheelchair lift operations.

· Cooperate and communicate effectively with school personnel, parents, and students.

· Attend all safety and training meetings.

· Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus when necessary.

· Maintain cleanliness of the bus, both inside and out.

· Manage student behavior on the bus.

· Learn and follow assigned route sheets or use an electronic routing device.

Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

· Valid operator’s license with required endorsements and other state or local permits as necessary.

· Strong verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work early morning hours.

· Must be able to work without direct supervision.

· Maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward colleagues and customers.

· Dress appropriately for a business environment.

· Adhere to OSHA guidelines and other applicable federal and state laws.

· Ability to use or learn to use the internet, additional programs as required, and office equipment.

Physical Requirements:

· Successfully complete and maintain a dexterity test and DOT physical, and comply with drug-free workplace policy.

· Ability to open service doors, emergency doors, bus hoods, and perform other tasks requiring physical exertion.

· Lifting up to 40 lbs., walking across lots, climbing steps, and reaching for various controls multiple times a day.

· Sitting for up to 2-3 hours, climbing in and out of the bus, and performing emergency evacuations when necessary.

· Communicating effectively in English with passengers, parents, school officials, and other stakeholders.

Additional Information:

· No nights or weekends required.

· Extra work available.

· Flexible schedules, with work ranging from 20-40 hours per week.

· Summer work available throughout the season and into fall.

· Paid holidays.
